It doesn't really matter to me anyway, I typically buy DLC all at once anyway if I buy it. Unless they have some good reason for this, I'm hoping they back out on it. My guess is that they're releasing characters in packs of some kind, which explains why the DLC won't actually be coming until Fall and lists team names. With that being said though, this is a rather strange decision. The hilarity of it all is that we don't even know what characters are coming out yet and the tantrums are already flying. Chances are the so-called "boycotters" were never going to buy the game in the first place. Bonus props for as well for nailing the same points I was going to nail, just in a more comedic fashion. This whole situation is silly and proof that gamers will use buzzwords and look for anything to complain about. Really saves me a lot of trouble, this person nailed it completely. Wow this topic might have the most upvotes and downvotes I've ever seen.Īnyway, pretty much nailed exactly how I feel about the situation almost word for word. I only want one and a half characters from the DLC and if they’re not going to sell me that one and a half characters separately then I’m boycotting the whole game and you should too, because this is an outrage. You should get to choose how long you play at for and just get pro-rated. In fact, video games should be paid for on a sliding scale.
Let’s boycott Nintendo Switch for not selling the plastic shell of the system separate from the battery and the motherboard! How dare they! And let’s boycott Skittles for not selling each individual piece of candy for 5 cents each. In fact we should boycott Chevrolet for not selling the car’s chassis separately from the gas tank and engine. And let’s boycott any game with a $20 expansion pack also because they’re not selling it in half a dozen pieces. Let’s all boycott any video game selling for $60 because they didn’t break it up into 20 $3 pieces. WTH did you expect, them to sell it piecemeal for $1.25 per asset? This is literally the state of the NintendoLife readership today. you can’t even make this stuff up if you wanted to lol. why does it not surprise me you’ve got people in the comments talking about boycotting a video game for selling a $20 expansion pass. If it seems worth it, buy it, otherwise don’t. it's not like there is paid Day-1 DLC that was clearly cut or some such thing that we see with other games. This is hardly the game to start boycotting DLC content.

The Fantastic 4 pack must at least come with the Fantastic 4, so that's 4 characters a pack at least likely (for a total of ~12), PLUS new story content AND additional game modes. But in this case, it's relatively cheap and offers a lot for what it's asking. I hate the concept of paying more for a game. The game also features nearly 30 bosses that we've seen so far and every one has a unique fight sequence with move patterns that's a significant improvement over the last games where it was sort of just a generic brawl for the most part with many of the bosses. Not to mention the final roster hasn't even been confirmed, so there may be even more characters that we are unsure of at launch though I doubt there will be additional inclusions. This features the LARGEST ROSTER out of all 5 games (Xmen Legends, Xmen Legends 2, Marvel Ultimate Alliance, and Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2). Secondly, those of you saying this is "cut" content are being absurd. It's not a $60 DLC as I keep seeing stated. The three packs all come in different intervals throughout the next 6 months from purchasing that one single pass. The entire expansion pass is $20, not each sold separately for $20.
